Red's CHOCOLATE LOVERS Balls - PICK OF THE YEAR!!
- 1 pkg Oreo cookies (I like to use Double Stuffed Oreos)
- 1 pkg 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 plastic containers of chocolate wafers, melted
- Melting instructions are on the package
- Finely chop Oreos in food processor. Pour into a large mixing bowl
- Mix cream cheese with ground Oreo mixture. (I prefer to mix with my hands because
it makes the process go a lot quicker)
- Once paste is formed, roll the batter into balls and place onto waxed paper
- The next step is tricky, as you have to roll the balls in the chocolate before it
hardens
- Melt chocolate on a plate in microwave according to instructions on package
- Once chocolate is thoroughly melted, begin rolling the balls in the chocolate until
fully coated
- Then place back on wax paper and let the truffles harden
- Hardening time varies. For a quicker hardening time, place fully coated balls in
refrigerator until hard
- Store in an air-tight container
- May be refrigerated but not necessary
Cherries in the Snow
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp chopped pecans, toasted.
- 6 cocktail cherries drained and finely chopped.
Directions: Mix all ingredients. Service on endive tips or small toast rounds.
